Baggage Allowances
The type of itinerary your client is travelling will determine which Checked Baggage Allowance applies. The baggage allowance for a domestic sector as part of an International itinerary is that which is applicable to the International journey. > View the latest Checked Baggage information
For the safety and comfort of all our customers, and to ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority Regulations, it is necessary to limit the size, weight and number of each customers Carry on Baggage. > View the latest Cabin Baggage information
Where possible your client is offered the Through Check facility between Qantas and Qantas, or Qantas and another carrier services.
If your client is travelling on a Qantas Domestic service with a Qantas International connection they will be through checked from the domestic port to the International destination. Example: HBA QF X/MEL QF LAX
If your client is travelling on a Qantas International service with a Qantas Domestic connection they will be through checked from the International port to the Domestic destination. Example: HKG QF X/SYD QF CBR Your client will be required to collect their bags at the gateway port and proceed through immigration and customs. Your client must lodge their bags at the either the domestic transfer desk at the international terminal or the domestic terminal.
If your client is travelling with checked baggage which exceeds the Checked Baggage Allowance, additional Baggage Rates apply.
Sporting Equipment can be carried as baggage depending on the conditions of your client's ticket and what allowance they are permitted. > View the latest Sporting Equipment information
With the exception of Service Dogs, pets cannot be carried in the passenger cabin of the aircraft. If Travelling with Pets on a Qantas operated Australian domestic service (QF400 and above), the pet can be considered part of your client's free baggage allowance, subject to certain conditions. > View the latest Travelling with Pets information
Dangerous Goods are items that may endanger the safety of an aircraft or persons on board the aircraft. Their carriage on Qantas aircraft is primarily governed by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Regulations. > View the latest Dangerous Goods information
