Lost Documents (Lost Ticket Indemnity - LTI)
Definition

A Lost Ticket Indemnity (LTI) is used to request the reissue or refund of lost or stolen documents. Documents or coupons can include the following:

  • Air tickets
  • Miscellaneous Charges Orders (MCO)
  • Either of the above that have been defaced
Policy

Replacement tickets or refunds will only be actioned against Qantas (081) tickets. The lost ticket administration fee must be paid each time.

Qantas will issue replacement tickets no more than 72 hours prior to flight departure. Replacement tickets can also be made available at Qantas operated airports on the day the passenger is scheduled to travel. Customers requesting this service must be advised to arrive at the airport at least 30 minutes prior to the required minimum check-in time.

After hours, you will need to contact Qantas Telephone Sales on 1 800 227 4500 for assistance.

Procedure

Complete and submit the Lost Ticket Indemnity Form.

Once you have submitted the form, print, sign and attach a copy of the original ticket and a copy of the MCO for payment of the LTI fee and fax to Qantas on 1 520 741 5334.

Ensure the live MCO is sent to Qantas immediately.

Lost Ticket Administration Fees

US$100 or C$125 for international ticket per passenger plus applicable Federal Express charge.

Replacement tickets issued in Australia, irrespective of they were originally issued, for international and domestic travel will be subject to a non-refundable LTI fee.

The only exception where the LTI fee is exempt is when the ticket has been stolen and a copy of the police report can be presented.
