QF 8 Brisbane Transit Customer Experience
From Monday 16 May 2011, we'll be flying from Dallas/Fort Worth to Brisbane and on to Sydney four times a week, offering more access through one of the largest cities in the United States.
Below outlines the Brisbane transit process for the QF8 Dallas/Fort Worth to Sydney customers.
Brisbane International Terminal
Arrival 5am/Departure 6.30am
Passengers disembark aircraft and proceed through Transit security.
Liquids And Gels - Discussion with authorities is in progress to allow LAGS exceeding the 100ml allowance to remain on the aircraft during the transit. Once a decision is reached this will be communicated.
If this is not approved Customer Service staff at the airport need to advise customers not to purchase restricted items as they will be confiscated at transit security.
Passengers will wait in the departure area and will have access to food and retail outlets. The estimated time on the ground until boarding will be approximately 40 minutes.
Qantas Chairmans Lounge, Platinum Frequent Flyers and oneworld Emerald members will be eligible to access the First Lounge during the transit period.
Business passengers, Qantas Gold Frequent Flyers and oneworld Sapphire members will be eligible to access Qantas Business Lounge during the transit period.
Passengers will proceed to the gate for boarding.
Passenger will collect their baggage at Sydney International Terminal once they have cleared Customs.
NOTE: There will be no immigration processing in Brisbane during the transit. However, we are exploring the option of installing SmartGate readers (for ePassports) in the concourse area and Qantas Lounge at Brisbane to reduce processing time in Sydney.
