Fuel Surcharge (YQ) Increases
Due to rise in fuel and operational costs, Qantas has filed to increase fuel surcharge effective today, Wednesday, 8 February 2012, for the following point of sale countries. Please note levels shown below are for one way travel, thus, multiply by two for round trip travel.

Qantas wishes to remind all travel agents of the forthcoming effectiveness - on Thursday, January 26, 2012 - of the next set of requirements imposed by the US Department of Transportation's new Rules for Enhancing Airline Passenger Protections. These requirements are in addition to other new rules that became effective on August 23, 2011.

Waiver Update for Disrupted Customers Due Qantas Grounding
Options are available to Qantas customers holding a valid ticket issued on/before 29
October 2011 who were directly affected by schedule change activity (ie cancelled and retimed flights resulting from the grounding of Qantas services for travel from 1700 AEDT 29 October 2011 up to and including 2 November 2011), and those customers who amended their travel plans in the period from 1700 AEDT 29 October 2011 to 2359 AEDT 2 November 2011 as a result of the uncertainty caused by the grounding.

Grounding of All Qantas Aircraft
Qantas will stop all domestic and international flights from 5pm (AEDT) on Saturday 29 October until further notice. This is in response to the damaging industrial action by three unions - the Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA), the Australian International Pilots Association (AIPA) and the Transport Workers Union (TWU).
