You can choose from these options for Awards Flights:

a Qantas & Partner Classic Award,

a Qantas Any Seat Award, or
-
a Jetstar Any Seat Award.
Qantas & Partner Classic Awards
Qantas & Partner Classic Awards are the Award Flights we've always offered. You can book a Classic Award on available seats on eligible Qantas, oneworld and other partner airlines. Availability is limited and conditions apply.
Seats on Qantas flights available as Classic Awards may alternatively be obtained through the Qantas Any Seat Award booking process as a Qantas Any Seat Award (for flights with a QF flight number) although different points (which include surcharges, fees and taxes) and conditions may apply.
Qantas Any Seat Awards
You can use all points or Points Plus Pay to book any available seat on any Qantas flight with a QF flight number. In addition, when booking a Qantas Any Seat Award, you can combine your Qantas flights with selected flights on other selected airlines for onward travel to other great destinations.* The number of points required will vary and will be quoted at the time of booking. The points required are not always linked to retail fares and are generally higher than Classic Awards.
Jetstar Any Seat Awards
Jetstar Any Seat Awards allow you to use all points or Points Plus Pay for any available seat on any Jetstar flight with a JQ flight number. The number of points required will vary and will be quoted at the time of booking. Points required are not always linked to retail fares and are generally higher than Classic Awards.
You can't book a Jetstar Any Seat Award on Jetstar Asia, Valuair or Jetstar Pacific.
The points needed for Jetstar Any Seat Awards are determined by Qantas Frequent Flyer and there is no fixed relationship between the price charged by Jetstar for a seat and the points needed to redeem a Jetstar Any Seat Award. Not all Jetstar special promotional fares are available as Jetstar Any Seat Awards. Fare conditions for Jetstar Any Seat Awards are also different to the fare conditions applicable to cash fares.
The points quoted for a Jetstar Any Seat Award include surcharges, fees and taxes (excluding any local payment for airport fees or charges). You can choose to redeem 100% points or use Points Plus Pay. With Points Plus Pay, you can choose the number of points and the amount of money that you wish to use for an Award. A minimum number of points must be redeemed so you cannot pay 100% money. The minimum number of points required will vary and will be quoted during the booking process. When you use Points Plus Pay additional GST and charges may apply.
The points required for Qantas or Jetstar Any Seat Awards are variable and are only valid when quoted. If you finalise your booking at a later time, points required at that time may be different.
Classic Awards are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited. The number of seats available for Classic Awards depends on the flight, date, season and destination and some flights may not have any Classic Awards available.
The seats made available for Classic Awards on Qantas flights may also be obtained through the Qantas Any Seat Award booking process (although points required are usually higher, and include surcharges, fees and taxes). Different conditions apply to Any Seat Awards. Members can still choose to obtain those seats as Classic Awards in a separate booking.
A particular itinerary may be available as more than one Award Type (ie Qantas & Partner Classic Awards, Qantas Any Seat Awards and/or Jetstar Any Seat Awards). Points required for each Award Type for the same itinerary may be different and each may have different fare conditions. The booking process for each Award Type is separate from the others.
Jetstar Any Seat Awards based on JetSaver Light fare conditions are not available online. To access these Jetstar Any Seat Awards, call 1300 308 911 within Australia, 0800 770 778 within NZ or elsewhere on +61 2 9921 5223 between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). An additional booking fee of 2,500 points per person will apply. JetSaver Light fares and Jetstar Any Seat Awards based on them only allow carry-on baggage, but the points required may not be less than the points required for other Jetstar Any Seat Awards available online.
* A limited number of seats on selected partner airlines (as offered by Qantas) may be combined with your Qantas flights in a Qantas Any Seat Award.
