Here is a chance for you or your family members to be coached by one of Australia's greatest swimmers.
As part of the Qantas Sharing the Spirit program a series of Swim Clinics hosted by Kieren Perkins are being held in regional communities around the country. The Swim Clinics are open to swimmers from intermediate level through to triathletes including children from the age of 12.
Kieren Perkins is a dual Olympic Gold Medallist, former World Record holder and a highly experienced motivator. He will share his swimming tips, dreams, successes and disappointments, and importantly, he will share his enthusiasm for the sport of swimming through interactive swimming clinics.
Each clinic includes:
- swimming coaching, demonstrations and instruction,
- a motivational talk from Kieren Perkins,
- autograph and photo opportunities with Kieren Perkins,
- sausage sizzle lunch, and
- a Qantas backpack, water bottle and baseball cap, Superfish goggles and swimming cap, plus Certificate of Participation signed by Kieren Perkins.
Swim Clinics will be held at these locations:
- Weipa: Saturday, 6 September 2008
- Gladstone: Saturday, 11 October 2008
- Emerald: Saturday, 25 October 2008
- Tamworth: Saturday, 8 November 2008
Two different Qantas Swim Clinics will be held at each location:
- Swim Clinic 1 is for experienced swimmers over 16 years of age,
- Swim Clinic 2 is for children aged from 12 to 16 years with intermediate to advanced swimming skills.
Tickets for the clinics are A$35 per person.* Places are limited to 25 participants per clinic.
