Win a trip to Africa Points Transfer Promotion - Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter and details of the prize forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into this promotion or acceptance of a prize is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2. The promoter is Qantas Airways Limited (ABN 16 009 661 901) of 203 Coward Street, Mascot, NSW, Australia 2020 (‘Qantas’) Telephone: 13 11 31.

3. The promotion commences at 12.01am (AEST) on 7 May 2008 and closes at 11.59pm (AEST) on 30 June 2008 ('Promotion Period').

4. The draw will take place at 4.00pm (AEST) on 5 September 2008 ('Draw Date') and will be held at 15 Grosvenor Street, Neutral Bay, NSW, 2089 and be conducted by Mike Da Silva & Associates (Aust) Pty Ltd. (ABN 50 003 894 022) The result of each draw (and any redraw) is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The draw will be conducted and scrutinised by Mike Da Silva & Associates (Aust) Pty Ltd.

5. Entry is open only to Qantas Frequent Flyer ('QFF') members aged over 18 years who are residents of Australia or New Zealand ('Eligible Entrants'), excluding:
a. directors, management, employees (and their immediate families) of Qantas and its related bodies corporate;
b. registered travel companions of employees of Qantas and its related bodies corporate; and
c. members whose QFF account is suspended, cancelled or otherwise terminated at any time during the Promotion Period or at the time of a prize draw (or any redraw).

6. To enter, Eligible Entrants must, during the Promotion Period register their Qantas Frequent Flyer number and PIN at qantas.com/transferoffer. Subject to paragraph 7, each Eligible Entrant that so registers their details during the Promotion Period will receive one entry into the draw for each QFF point that is:
a) transferred to the Eligible Entrant's QFF membership account from a participating loyalty program identified in paragraph 21 below (‘Participating Loyalty Program‘) during the Promotion Period ('Transferred'). By transferred (or Transferred) we mean QFF points that are credited to a QFF membership account as a result of redeeming points or credits under a Participating Loyalty Program to obtain QFF points. The date of Transfer shall be the date provided to Qantas for the Transfer by the participating Loyalty Program; and
b) credited to that Eligible Entrant's QFF membership account and listed for the first time in their QFF Activity Statement (whether online in 'Your Activity' or in paper form) between 7 May 2008 and 18 August 2008 (‘Listed’). Note that one entry for each QFF point so Transferred and Listed will go into the draw, not the number of points or credits in the Participating Loyalty Program (which may be more or less than the number of QFF points Transferred and Listed) which are redeemed to obtain the QFF points.

7. It is a condition of entry that:
(a)A QFF point must be Transferred during the Promotion Period and Listed between 7 May 2008 and 18 August 2008 to result in an entry into the draw. QFF points that are Transferred outside of the Promotion Period and/or Listed before 7 May 2008 or after 18 August 2008 are not eligible for an entry into the draw. Qantas accepts no responsibility for any delay or failure in Transferring or Listing QFF points.
(b) An entry corresponding to a QFF point that is Transferred and Listed in accordance with paragraph 6 but is reversed, cancelled or otherwise deducted prior to the draw will be deemed ineligible for the draw and removed from the draw. Qantas reserves the right to remove from the draw (and reverse or cancel) any QFF points Transferred or Listed incorrectly (for whatever reason), or not in accordance with, or in breach of, the QFF Terms and Conditions, without liability.

8. Qantas is not responsible for any problem or technical malfunction of any communications network or any late, lost, incorrectly submitted, delayed, ineligible, incomplete, corrupted or misdirected entry whether due to error, transmission interruption or otherwise. Qantas accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries, or for any delays in Transferring or Listing points (whether on the part of Qantas or the Participating Loyalty Program). Qantas reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process. Qantas reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity, proof of residency and proof of QFF membership at the nominated prize delivery address in order to claim the prize.

9. The winner will be notified by mail and phone within 2 working days of Draw Date and their names will be published in “The Australian” newspaper on 10 September 2008.

10. There will be one prize. The maximum total prize value is A$19, 656. based on the recommended retail value and the exchange rate at the time of printing (and the relevant departure point). Qantas accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize.

The first valid entry drawn will win the following prize:
a. Two return tickets from the relevant winner's nearest Qantas serviced airport in Australia or New Zealand to Nairobi via Johannesburg (tickets will be in Qantas Premium Economy on flights between Sydney and Johannesburg, in Kenya Airways Economy for flights within Africa, and in Qantas Economy for any other flights forming part of the winner's itinerary); and
b. a luxury Kenya Wildlife Safari tour for the winner and their nominated travel companion, consisting of:
i. all airport/hotel transfers within Kenya including 'meet & greet" service;
ii. one nights luxury accommodation twin share at the Nairobi Serena Hotel (or equivalent) with breakfast;
iii. six nights luxury lodge accommodation twin share in Samburu Serena Lodge, Lake Nakuru Lodge & Mara Serena Lodge (or equivalent) with breakfast, lunch and dinner daily;
iv. all ground transport by custom designed Wildlife Safari vehicles;
v. all National Park fees, government taxes and statutory charges (gratuities excluded) whilst on tour;
vi. services of an expert Wildlife Safari guide throughout your safari; and
c. Products to the value of A$1000 (tax & duty free) from SYD Airport Tax & Duty Free or F1RST Tax & Duty Free, as selected by the relevant winner. Such products must be collected from SYD Airport Tax & Duty Free or F1RST TAX & Duty Free store at the time of the relevant winner's prize travel.

11. The prize does not include travel insurance, passports, visas, spending money, meals, accommodation, vaccination costs, gratuities taxes not included in the price of the tickets, transfers or ground transportation (other than stated) or any other costs of a personal nature not stated.

12. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize winner and their nominated travel companion. Without limiting the above, entry onto any country and satisfying any customs or related requirements is the full responsibility of the winner. All prize travel is at the risk of the winner and their nominated travel companion. Prize travel is subject to the Conditions of Carriage of the relevant carrier. Qantas makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

13. The prize must be booked by 31 December 2008 and no later than 4 weeks prior the winner's departure. All prize travel must be booked at the same time. The winner and their nominated travel companion must take all travel and prizes together at the same time and must travel together on all prize flights. Prize travel is subject to availability at the time of booking. The winner and their nominated travel companions will not accrue Qantas Frequent Flyer points on prize travel or accommodation.

14. The prize must be taken by 30 June 2009. Any parts of the prize not taken by 30 June 2009 will be forfeited. Once prize tickets are issued prize travel may not be changed under any circumstances.

15. The prize (and each of its elements) must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services. Prizes cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to in writing by Qantas.

16. Qantas, its related bodies corporate, and their respective officers, employees, contractors and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).

17. Qantas reserves the right to redraw in the event of an entrant being unable to satisfy these promotion terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming a prize. If a prize remains unclaimed as at 11 March 2009, an unclaimed prize draw will be conducted by Mike Da Silva & Associates (Aust) Pty Ltd at the same place as the original draw at 4.00pm (AEDST) on 16 March 2009, subject to any written direction given under applicable law. Any unclaimed prize draw winner/s will be notified by mail within 2 days of the unclaimed prize draw and their names published in 'The Australian' newspaper on 20 March 2009.

18. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned due to causes beyond the control of Qantas which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, or technical failures, Qantas reserves the right subject to any written directions given under any applicable law) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion and will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.

19. Entry details remain the property of Qantas. The name and photograph of the winners may be used for promotional purposes by Qantas, unless the winner otherwise notifies Qantas at the time of accepting their prize. By registering in accordance with paragraph 6, each entrant also consents to Qantas using personal information provided for the purposes of facilitating the conduct of the promotion and awarding any prizes. Without limiting the foregoing, entrants' personal information provided in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with Qantas' Privacy Statement, a copy of which is available at qantas.com/privacy.

f. any other loyalty programs Qantas, during the Promotion Period, identifies at qantas.com/transferoffer as participating in this promotion.
