At Qantas we run a staff recognition program called eXcel. It celebrates the exceptional performance of our staff in the three areas of Service, Safety and Innovation.
We would love to hear from you if you have had an exceptional experience with Qantas, due to the outstanding efforts of one of our staff. If you would like to nominate a staff member that you think deserves special recognition in any of the three categories, send your comments online through the feedback form.
Staff members highlighted for their exceptional service will be considered for recognition within the eXcel Frequent Flyers People's Choice Award. The Award is judged by a panel of Frequent Flyers.
2007 eXcel People's Choice Awards
The winners of the Frequent Flyer People's Choice Award have been announced for 2007 at the annual eXcel awards presentation evening held in Sydney on 7 March.
The winners were:
- Mark Fowler, Cabin Crew Long Haul Sydney; and
- Jim Bliku, Customer Services JFK Airport New York.
In late January, a panel of 12 Frequent Flyers was invited to select the People's Choice eXcel Award winners for 2007. After the rigorous committee selection process was completed the panel was treated to a stylish and sophisticated evening at the Qantas First Class Lounge at Sydney International Terminal and the Heritage Collection at Sydney Domestic Terminal.
Awarded in 2005 for the first time, the Frequent Flyer People's Choice Award was established to recognise employees nominated for their outstanding service by our Frequent Flyers. Compliments received by the Customer Care department from Frequent Flyers are automatically forwarded to the eXcel program for review and then considered for the award.
More than 3,200 original submissions were received in 2007. The panel, made up of a diverse range of industry leaders across the higher education, banking management, aviation, tourism and health care sectors, all of whom are Qantas Frequent Flyers and familiar with the Qantas travel experience, were asked to review 18 short-listed nominations.
Congratulations to Mark Fowler and Jim Bliku for their star performances last year and a special thanks to our Frequent Flyer panel whose commitment and effort make the program such a success.
