Access a priority service in Australia - find the number on the back of your Qantas card.
Complimentary Advance Seat Selection with preferential seating
You can select your seat* from reserved zones within your booked cabin according to your Frequent Flyer status. Advance Seat Selection is at all times subject to availability of requested seats.
Seat selection is complimentary on Qantas operated domestic flights (excluding Qantas Link) and for Gold Frequent Flyers on Qantas operated international flights, with QF flight number on your ticket.
Preferred seating
When you make a booking in Premium Economy, Business or First, your seat will be allocated at the time of booking based on your seat preference in your Qantas Frequent Flyer profile. You can make changes to your seat using Advance Seat Selection.
If you make a booking in Economy, your seat preference will be allocated at the time of Check-in from remaining available seats unless you have already selected a seat using Advance Seat Selection or purchased an Exit Row Seat.
Your Seat Preference is stored in your Qantas Frequent Flyer profile.
Preferential access to selected Qantas Classic Award seats
Qantas provides preferential access, when available, to selected Qantas Classic Award seats to Silver, Gold and Platinum Frequent Flyers. On selected flights, preferential access for Gold and Platinum members may be above the access available to Silver and Bronze members^.
^ Qantas & Partner Classic Award seat availability is limited and some flights may not have any Classic Award seats available.
At the airport
Priority check-in
As a Gold Frequent Flyer you have access to a range of check-in options regardless of your class of travel.
- Domestic: Check in at Q Card Reader, Premium Service Desks, or in Qantas Club lounges.
- International: Check in at Qantas Club/Business counters.
- Or choose to check in online or use mobile or kiosk check-in where available.
Faster, Smarter Check-in
Streamline your check-in by using your new 'intelligent Q' chip enabled Qantas card at a Q Card Reader at selected domestic airports and for Trans-Tasman direct flights between Sydney and Auckland or Wellington. Your Qantas card can also be used as your boarding pass, no matter how you choose to check-in.
Make Bag Drop even faster with Q Bag Tags
Gold Frequent Flyers receive complimentary Q Bag Tags. These stylish tags designed by Marc Newson, eliminate the need for paper bag tags on the domestic network. Featuring smart chip technology, Q Bag Tags automatically link your baggage with your flight details at the new Bag Drop facility at selected domestic airports.
Priority baggage
Your checked bags will be tagged priority on Qantas flights where applicable, regardless of your class of travel+.
Extra checked baggage allowance
Take advantage of extra checked baggage allowance on most Qantas flights when travelling in economy or premium economy#.
Access Premium Security Lanes
At selected domestic airports you can fast track through security and go straight to your Lounge or on to your flight. Premium Security Lanes are available weekdays during peak periods in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney (T3) domestic airports.
On Departure Upgrade requests for domestic flights in Australia
Use points to request an upgrade~ to Business at a Qantas Club lounge up to three hours (but not less than 25 minutes) before departure on selected Australian domestic Qantas flights and selected domestic legs of Qantas international flights.

You'll receive priority if you're waitlisted for a flight.

Board your flight at your convenience with priority boarding available on selected Qantas international flights±.

Relax or catch up on work in any Qantas Club, including International Business and Qantas Club domestic lounges. Plus access associated lounges or oneworld airline lounges around the world when flying on Qantas, Jetstar or a oneworld® alliance airline§.
§ Access is only available prior to travel on the same day on eligible flights that are both marketed and operated by a Qantas, Jetstar or oneworld® alliance airline. 75% points bonus
Earn a Status bonus of 75% more points than the base Economy rate every time you fly on eligible flights with a Qantas or Jetstar flight number on your ticket.
For eligible flights with a British Airways (for travel until 30 March 2013)* or American Airlines flight number the Status bonus for Gold Members will be 50% of the base rate.

Other program benefits
All Qantas Frequent Flyers enjoy a
- Loyalty Bonus of 8,000 points for every 500 Status credits^ earned on eligible Qantas or partner airline flights within a single membership year - up to a maximum of four Loyalty Bonuses per membership year. Please note that from 1 July 2013, only Status credits earned from flights with a QF flight number (including partner airline flights with a QF flight number) will contribute to the Status credits calculation for the Loyalty Bonus. Tier qualification and retention requirements will remain unchanged. At the end of your membership year, Status credit balances relating to the calculation of the Loyalty Bonus will be reset to zero.
- Minimum Points Guarantee of at least 1,000 points for every eligible Qantas and Jetstar flight**.
