Priority telephone service
Access priority telephone service in Australia, plus in many countries around the world, you can access Qantas Telephone Sales in Australia 24 hours using Freephone numbers. Find the number for Australia on the back of your Qantas card and your exclusive international priority numbers are listed in your Platinum privileges brochure.
A better International upgrade experience
Platinum members will have their successful International upgrade requests confirmed where possible from up to 48 hours prior to departure which is earlier than Gold, Silver and Bronze Frequent Flyers. Successful upgrades may be confirmed via SMS#.
Complimentary Advance Seat Selection with preferential seating
You can select your seat* from reserved zones within your booked cabin according to your Frequent Flyer status. Advance Seat Selection is at all times subject to availability of requested seats.
Seat selection is complimentary on Qantas operated domestic flights (excluding Qantas Link) and for Platinum Frequent Flyers on Qantas operated international flights, with a QF flight number on your ticket.
When you make a booking in Premium Economy, Business or First, your seat will be allocated at the time of booking based on your seat preference in your Qantas Frequent Flyer profile. You can make changes to your seat using Advance Seat Selection.
If you make a booking in Economy, your seat preference will be allocated at the time of Check-in from remaining available seats unless you have already selected a seat using Advance Seat Selection or purchased an Exit Row Seat.
Your Seat Preference is stored in your Qantas Frequent Flyer profile.
Priority Economy seat purchase for up to two, including yourself
Priority Economy seat purchase is available when holding or purchasing a Full Economy ticket for up to two people, including the Platinum member. It is available on any Qantas operated flight with a Qantas flight number (excluding non-jet QantasLink services) for bookings made before midday on the day before travel^.
Preferential access to selected Qantas Classic Award seats
Qantas provides preferential access, when available, to selected Qantas Classic Award seats to Silver, Gold and Platinum Frequent Flyers. On selected flights, preferential access for Gold and Platinum members may be above the access available to Silver and Bronze members+.
*Advance Seat Selection (with preferential seating) is at all times subject to availability of requested seats. Complimentary Advance Seat Selection is available on domestic and international Qantas operated flights with a Qantas flight number (QF1-199 for international and QF400-1349 for domestic, excluding QantasLink) immediately after completing your booking up until 3 hours before your scheduled departure. Seat requests cannot be guaranteed due to operational, safety and security requirements.

At the airport
As a Platinum Frequent Flyer you have access to a range of check-in options regardless of your class of travel:
- Domestic: Check in at the Q Card Reader, Premium Service Desks, in Domestic Business Lounges or at Qantas Club lounges.
- International: Check in at First check-in suites in Sydney and Melbourne, or at any First counter. You may also use Business counters where no First counters are available.
- Or choose to check in online or use mobile or kiosk check-in where available.
Faster, Smarter Check-in
Streamline your check-in using your new 'intelligent Q' chip enabled Qantas card at a Q Card Reader at selected domestic airports and for Trans-Tasman direct flights between Sydney and Auckland or Wellington. Your Qantas card can also be used as your boarding pass, no matter how you choose to check in.
Make bag drop even faster with Q Bag Tags
Platinum Frequent Flyers receive complimentary Q Bag Tags. These stylish tags designed by Marc Newson, eliminate the need for paper bag tags on the domestic network. Featuring smart chip technology, Q Bag Tags automatically link your baggage with your flight details at the new Bag Drop facility at selected domestic airports.
Priority baggage on Qantas, regardless of your class of travel
Your bags are tagged Business on domestic flights and First on international flights on Qantas operated jet flights with a QF flight number on your ticket when a Business cabin (domestic) or a First cabin (international) is offered.

Take advantage of extra checked baggage allowance on most Qantas flights when travelling in economy or premium economy~.

Relax or catch up on work in any Qantas Club, International First or Domestic Business Lounge when travelling on Qantas, Jetstar Airlines or oneworld alliance airline flight. Plus access associated lounges when flying Qantas or access oneworld airline lounges around the world when flying on a oneworld alliance airline^.
Available in Sydney and Melbourne. Designed by Qantas Creative Director Marc Newson, the Lounges offer a range of facilities including a day spa, restaurant, library, private work suites and concierge service. When visiting a First Lounge you may bring one guest, who must also be travelling.
Domestic Business Lounges
Available in Sydney T3, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. When visiting a Domestic Business Lounge you may bring two guests. Guests do not need to be travelling.
Domestic Lounge access on arrival
As a Platinum Frequent Flyer you can access Domestic Business Lounges or The Qantas Club upon arrival if you have travelled that day on any flight that shows a Qantas, a Jetstar Airline or a oneworld® flight number on your ticket.^ You may also bring two guests, who do not need to be travelling.

A choice of rewards when you reach 2,400 Status credits

- Loyalty Bonus of 8,000 points for every 500 Status credits earned on eligible Qantas or partner airline flights within a single membership year - up to a maximum of four Loyalty Bonuses per membership year. Please note that from 1 July 2013, only Status credits earned from flights with a QF flight number (including partner airline flights with a QF flight number) will contribute to the Status credits calculation for the Loyalty Bonus. Tier qualification and retention requirements will remain unchanged. At the end of your membership year, Status credit balances relating to the calculation of the Loyalty Bonus will be reset to zero.

To reach Platinum One status, we require a minimum of 3,600 Status credits~ to be earned, with a minimum of 2,700 earned on Qantas marketed flights (that is, with a QF flight number on your ticket)*each Qantas Frequent Flyer membership year. To earn this many Status credits, you're spending a great deal of time at airports and in the air and we want to make every part of your Platinum One experience the best it can be.
