Changes to the Qantas Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions

Notice date 10 October 2012

With effect from 1 May 2013, Qantas Frequent Flyer will amend clauses 3.2 and 3.3 of the Terms and Conditions of the program. The changes will mean that from this date:

  • Qantas will use best efforts to give members at least three months notice (rather than the current six months) of material changes to the Terms and Conditions that limit benefits provided by Qantas; and
  • Members living in Australia and New Zealand will now receive notice of relevant changes by email and/or online at qantas.com (rather than by mail), so it's important for all members to have their email address up to date.

Full details of the changes are provided below.

Current Terms:

3.2 Qantas will use best efforts to advise Members of material changes to these Terms and Conditions and, where such changes will limit Benefits:
(a) where the Benefit is provided by Qantas, to give Members at least six months' notice;
(b) where the Benefit is provided by a third party, where possible give Members at least 30 days' notice.

3.3 Without limiting this clause 3 in any way, Members will be taken to have received the notice referred to in clause 3.2 if Qantas notifies Members of the change by:
(a) providing notice at the address or e-mail address provided to Qantas by the Member;
(b) for Members living outside Australia or New Zealand, by posting details of the changes at this website.
