Points Tables for Qantas & Partner Classic Awards

Use the tables below to calculate the per-passenger points required for each Trip in your Classic Award booking. These tables should be read in conjunction with the following important notes:

  • Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to the points required for Classic Award flights, are subject to change, are quoted at the time of booking and paid by using an Accepted Payment Card. In some cases members may be able to redeem points for all or part of these amounts.
  • Children aged two years and older will need to redeem the full number of Points required for a Classic Award.
  • Infant passengers under two years and not occupying a seat travel are not required to redeem Points to travel as long as the accompanying adult is travelling on a Classic Award. Taxes, fees and carrier charges may be payable for Infants accompanying other passengers travelling on a Classic Award booking.
  • No booking fees are payable when redeeming points for Award Flights online at qantas.com. An Award Assistance Fee applies to bookings made through Qantas Contact Centres.

For travel entirely within Australia or for international travel on Qantas, Jetstar and selected flights on airline partners commencing in Australia, Classic Award flights may be combined with non-Classic Award flights ("Commercial Fares") in the same booking when booking at qantas.com and the 'Search Qantas & Partner Classic Awards' checkbox is not ticked. The tables below will be used to calculate the per-passenger points required for the Classic Award portion of the booking. Find out more.

From 26 June 2013 these Any Seat Awards can only be booked through Qantas Contact Centres. Find out more.

Important Information:
For Classic Award Trips booked until 31 August 2013, if the Trip includes any flight with a British Airways (BA) flight number, the Qantas Classic Award table only applies to that Trip if the oneworld® Classic Award table does not apply and the only flights with a British Airways (BA) flight number included in the Award Trip are between these cities:
- Sydney and Singapore,
- Sydney and London via Singapore, and
- London and Bangkok, London and Singapore, London and Hong Kong or London and Tokyo.
This table does not apply to any Classic Award Trip which includes one or more flights with a British Airways (BA) flight number between any city pairings not listed above (see Partner Classic Award table for those Award Trips).
Effective on and from 1 September 2013, all Classic Award Trips on British Airways (BA), other than British Airways Classic Award Trips which are part of a oneworld® Classic Award, will be calculated using the Partner Award table.
~~ If a Classic Award Trip includes any flight with a Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K), Valuair (VF) or Jetstar Japan (GK) flight number and a flight number from an airline on the Qantas Classic Award table, the points required for that Trip will be calculated using the lowest quoted Points level of either:
a) the Qantas Classic Award table; or
b) the sum of Points, breaking the Trip into multiple Trips wherever the carrier code changes between those carriers that are eligible for the Jetstar table and those carriers that are eligible from the Qantas table.
If the Classic Award Trip only includes flights with a Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K), Valuair (VF) or Jetstar Japan (GK) flight number, or a combination thereof, the Jetstar Classic Award table will apply.
^^ US Airways is an affiliate of oneworld® member airline American Airlines.
^ Premium Economy is available on selected Qantas flights.
+ Business class is available on all Jetstar (JQ) flights, flights operated by Jetstar Asia (3K), Valuair (VF) and Jetstar Japan (GK).*
