About Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards
Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards offer flexibility and choice when using your points to book an Award Flight.
You can use your points to redeem a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award for any available seat on any Qantas or Jetstar flight with a QF or JQ flight number. As long as there is a QF or JQ seat available for sale, you can book a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award. In addition, when booking a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award, you can combine your Qantas or Jetstar flights with selected flights on other selected airlines for onward travel to other great destinations.* You can book using 100% points plus, for most seats, you can use Points Plus Pay.
Note: Award Flights must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (some locations and fares require earlier advance booking).
Points required for Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards are inclusive of surcharges, fees and taxes (other than any local payment for airport fees or charges).
You can redeem Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards for yourself and for any eligible family member.
How Many Points Do You Need?
The points required for a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award will vary for each booking (even for the same itinerary). Flights with higher demand may require more points.
The points required for Any Seat Awards are determined by Qantas Frequent Flyer and there is no fixed relationship between the price charged by the applicable airline for a seat and the points required to redeem a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award. Not all special promotional fares are available as Any Seat Awards. Fare conditions for Any Seat Awards are also different to the fare conditions applicable to cash fares.
The points quoted in the Any Seat Award booking processes are for the selected Any Seat Award itinerary only and are only valid when quoted. If you delay your booking or do not proceed to make your booking at that time, the points quoted for your requested itinerary may change.
A particular itinerary may be available as more than one Award Type (ie Qantas & Partner Classic Awards or Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards). Points required for each Award Type for the same itinerary may be different and each may have different fare conditions. The booking process for each Award Type may be different.
When you're a little short of the points you need for the minimum number of points required for an Any Seat Award, you could consider using Top-Up Points or a Family Transfer from an eligible family member.
Points Plus Pay
You usually have two options to redeem a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award. Any Seat Awards allow you to redeem 100% points including surcharges, fees and taxes (excluding any local payment for airport fees or changes) or for most seats you can use Points Plus Pay. With Points Plus Pay, you can choose the number of points and the amount of money that you wish to use for an Award. A minimum number of points must be redeemed so you cannot pay 100% money. The minimum number of points required will vary and will be quoted during the booking process. Where the minimum number of points required is equal to or above the all points fare, then Points Plus Pay will not be available.
For Points Plus Pay redemptions, any money amount payable for a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award requires immediate credit card payment at the time of booking. Required points must also be available at the time of booking. When you use Points Plus Pay additional GST and charges may apply.
Earning Points and Status Credits
Points and Status Credits may be earned on Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards for new bookings made on or after 23 March 2010. See the Airline Earning Table for eligible flights and earning classes. Note: Frequent Flyer points may not be earned on some fare types, or on some oneworld alliance or airline partner flights.

Booking a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award
You can book your Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award online.^ Select the Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award type. The booking processes for different Any Seat Awards and for Qantas & Partner Classic Awards may be different and so we recommend you consider and compare each of the Award Type booking options before you finalise your booking.

Points option when making a commercial booking using money
When making a commercial booking using money, you may be provided with the option to use your points (if your itinerary is available as a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award, you have logged in to Your Account and you have sufficient points). By selecting Use Points, you will be booking your selected itinerary as a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award and Any Seat Award fare conditions will apply. To continue with the booking, follow the prompts. Otherwise, select Use Money to view your fare in money and resume your commercial booking.
Note: when booking your Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award in this way (through the commercial booking engine), other Award Flights (including Qantas & Partner Classic Award flights and other Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award flights) may be available for your selected itinerary. Points required for other Award Flights for your itinerary may be different and may be lower than the points required for the Any Seat Award provided. The Points quote provided for the selected Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award is for the flights you have selected only; Qantas has not searched for other available Award Flight seats or for the lowest points quote. You will need to go to the Award Flights booking page if you wish to review other available Award Flights.

Flight Upgrade Awards
You can use points for a flight upgrade when travelling on eligible Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards on Qantas domestic and international flights.+
To request an upgrade using your points, you'll need to have an eligible confirmed Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award on a Qantas operated service with a QF flight number.

Award Assistance Fee
An Award Assistance Fee per passenger, per booking applies for Award bookings made or completed worldwide via a consultant. For Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards this fee is redeemed using points but in some cases payment by money is an option.
This service fee applies regardless of your Frequent Flyer status and to children and infants occupying a seat.
This fee applies only to making the initial booking. Other service fees and charges apply to changes and cancellations. The fee is non-refundable.
In most cases, you can avoid the service fee by booking Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award flights online.
A fee will apply to all other Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award flights as they can only be booked through a consultant.
Changing your Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award
Changes to your Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award can only be made in accordance with the applicable Fare Conditions (provided to you at the time of booking). Fees may apply as specified in the Fare Conditions.
All additional collections, including service fees and change fees, are to be paid with money (eg by credit card, BPAY, cash or other accepted form of payment) in the currency that Qantas or Jetstar have recorded in your booking.
Refunds
A Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award is only refundable if the applicable Fare Conditions state that it is refundable.
Non- Refundable Fares
If the fare conditions permit, the commercial ticket value of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award may be stored as a credit voucher and used only for further travel on Qantas flights within 12 months from the original booking creation date (this does not apply to Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards on Jetstar flights).
Refundable Fares
If the fare conditions permit, Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award bookings may be refunded subject to these conditions:
Bookings made at qantas.com or otherwise (except bookings made at jetstar.com):
- If the Member requests a refund before travel has commenced and the money paid (if any) to obtain the Any Seat Award is greater than or equal to the applicable cancellation fee as specified in the fare conditions, then the difference between the two will be refunded to the original form of payment. The points redeemed will be re-credited to the applicable Member's account in full.
- If the Member requests a refund before travel has commenced and the money paid (if any) to obtain the Any Seat Award is less than the applicable cancellation fee as specified in the fare conditions, or the request is made after travel has commenced, then a proportion of the money and points originally used to obtain the Any Seat Award will be refunded to the applicable Member. The refund proportion will be the difference between the original ticket value (or remaining ticket value if the itinerary is partially flown) as allocated by Qantas and the applicable cancellation fee, as a proportion of the original ticket value.
Bookings made at jetstar.com:
- If the Member requests a refund before any travel has commenced, and the booking is fully refundable, and the money paid (if any) to obtain the Any Seat Award is greater than or equal to the applicable cancellation (or refund) fee as specified in the fare conditions, then the difference between the two will be refunded to the original form of payment. The points redeemed will be re-credited to the applicable Member's account in full.
- If the above does not apply and any part of the fare is refundable then any applicable cancellation (or refund) fee must be paid with money as specified in the fare conditions and once paid the refund of the Any Seat Award will be made by re-crediting only the unused refundable portion of points redeemed to the Member's account and refunding only the unused refundable portion of money paid to the Member's Accepted Payment Card.
Members cannot receive a refund of more points than originally redeemed or more money than originally paid.
Alternatively, if the fare conditions permit, the residual commercial ticket value may be stored as a credit voucher and used only for further travel on Qantas flights within 12 months from the original booking creation date (this does not apply to Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards on Jetstar flights).

Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award Conditions
Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award booking and fare conditions, including terms applicable to changes, cancellations and refunds, will vary according to the Any Seat Award booked. Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award conditions are available at the time of booking. We recommend that you review carefully the applicable fare conditions at the time of booking.
Some of the fare conditions that typically apply to Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards, that do not usually apply to non-Award fares offered by the applicable airline, are as follows:
- A Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award cannot be changed to a Classic Award or vice versa.
- All additional collections, including servicing fees and change fees, are to be paid with money (eg by credit card, BPAY, cash or other accepted form of payment) in the currency that Qantas or Jetstar has recorded for your booking.
- You cannot combine a Qantas & Partner Classic Award with a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award in the same booking but seats available on Qantas as Classic Awards with a QF flight number may be redeemed as a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award.
- When booking a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award, you can combine seats on Qantas with a QF code with seats on Jetstar with a JQ code in your booking and you can also combine your Qantas or Jetstar flights with selected flights on other selected airlines for onward travel.*
- Award Flights must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (some locations and fares require earlier advance booking).
* A limited number of seats on selected partner airlines (as offered by Qantas at the time of booking) may be combined with your Qantas or Jetstar flights in a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award. Partner airline flights which may be combined with Jetstar flights in an Any Seat Award are more limited than those which may be combined with Qantas flights. Jetstar partner airlines currently include Jetstar Asia (3K), Valuair (VF), Jetstar Pacific (BL) and Qantas (QF) - refer to available flights at time of booking for applicable partner airline flights.
^ The booking service for Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards on Jetstar flights is provided by Jetstar Airways Pty Limited (ABN 33 069 720 243), Travel agent licence no. VIC 32696.
+ Flight upgrades are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited. Flight upgrades are not available on Qantas & Partner Classic Awards or on international airfares, including international Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards, booked in E, N, O, P, Q, and X classes, which includes some international Red e-Deal fares.
