Qantas is committed to working in partnership with Indigenous communities and our Indigenous staff across Australia through a range of initiatives including recruitment, employee engagement and community activities.
Qantas, as Australia's largest airline and a national icon, has a responsibility to ensure our business reflects the values of inclusion and diversity. Over the next few years, Qantas will be undertaking a range of new programs and initiatives to support the Indigenous community and Indigenous Australians through our Reconciliation Action Plan.
Qantas is committed to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians and endorses the vision of a nation which values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, cultures and peoples, and recognises their unique position as the original custodians of Australia
In November 2007, the Qantas Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was launched by Qantas Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Dixon.
Qantas recognises the importance of bridging the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities and the launch of the Reconciliation Action Plan makes a positive contribution toward this goal.

Qantas staff uniforms worn by cabin crew and customer service assistants use the "Wirriyarra" textile design by Balarinji Designs.

In 2002, Qantas developed an Indigenous staff pin as a symbol of the airline's ongoing commitment to strengthening relationships between non-Indigenous and Indigenous Australians. The pin is recognised as an official Qantas pin and wearing it is optional. It is worn by our Indigenous cabin crew when flying and Indigenous staff working in other roles at Qantas.
Qantas screens Indigenous programming on Inflight entertainment to mark special events on the Indigenous calendar and throughout the year as part of mainstream programming. Qantas supports Indigenous film-makers through our partnership with the Black Screen program at Screen Australia which showcases short films and documentaries made by emerging and established Indigenous film-makers.
