This funding can be used to facilitate payment of their Cadet Industry Placement Program (CIPP) qualifications contribution and to repay some or all of any existing loans associated with the cost of their flying training.

The FEE-HELP available under some of the University Programs on offer is not available for Commercial Program Cadets.

What is the payment procedure for Commercial Cadets - is it in instalments or do you pay up-front?

Payment requirements are by arrangement with the Flight Training Organisations, but are usually by instalments.

What are the entry requirements for this Program?

In addition to the Qantas Cadet Pilot Program Minimum Criteria, Commercial Program Cadet applicants must have a Commercial Pilot (Aeroplane) Licence (CPL(A)) by a specified date as set out in the Cadet Pilot Program Selection Schedule. As part of the Cadet selection process, all Commercial Program applicants will be required to undergo a Cadet Flight Test, in addition to other assessments, with a Qantas appointed testing officer. This test will take place after the applicant has been issued with a CPL(A). More information on the Cadet Flight Test can be found in the Cadet Selection Process Briefing Sheet.

Are there any additional requirements I should be aware of if applying to the Commercial Program?

If offered a position on the Cadet Pilot Training Program it is a requirement that Commercial Program Cadets will have completed 5 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) at night prior to the commencement of training. You may wish to consider this when undertaking your training.
