Construction of a new combined domestic and international terminal is currently underway in Christchurch. The new terminal will offer an enhanced airport experience with improved seating, retail and cafe areas. Location:	12km (7.5 miles) from the city.
Qantas flights:	Both domestic and international services operate from this airport. Qantas flights in the QF4000 series are domestic services. Qantas flights QF1-QF399 are international services.
Departure information:	Ticket Counter The Sales desk is located next to the international check-in counters. Open from 6am until 30 minutes before the last Qantas departure. Contact the local Qantas office for assistance. Check-in Check-in is located on the ground floor. Check-in for Domestic flights from 5.30am until the last Qantas departure. Check-in for International flights is from 3 hours before departure. For International departures, check-in at least 2 hours before departure. Please have your passport and airline tickets ready. Remember to ensure all sharp objects have been placed in your suitcase. Sharp objects are not permitted within hand luggage and will be confiscated by Aviation Security at the Security checkpoint. Online Check-in is available for Qantas New Zealand domestic bookings between 24 hours and 1 hour before your flight departure.
Transfer between Terminals:	The domestic and international terminals are within the same building. You can easily walk from one to the other.
Arrival information:	Baggage carousels are located in the Arrivals hall (ground floor). Information monitors display flight carousel numbers. Baggage Services has a counter located beside carousels.
Qantas Club:	Located Level 1 in the domestic terminal. Open from 5.30am until the last Qantas departure. Located on Level 1 opposite gate 29 in the international terminal. Opens 90 minutes before Qantas departures.

Getting to and from the Airport

Transport	Details
Car	The airport is approximately a 20 minute drive from the city. Visit the Christchurch Airport website for current car parking rates.
Taxis	Approximately NZ$30 to the city.
Buses	Public buses operate every half hour to the city. Fares start from NZ$5 one way. Shuttle buses also operate door to door services. Fares start from NZ$12 one way.
Car rentals	Avis, Budget, Hertz New Zealand, Maui Rentals and Thrifty offices are conveniently located within the terminal building.

Toilets	Located throughout the airport. Disabled toilet facilities are also available.
Showers	Located in the international terminal Arrivals hall, within the male and female toilets. Soap, shampoo and conditioner available from vending machines. Towels can be hired from NZ$7 with a refund of NZ$5 when towel is returned.
Baby change rooms	Located throughout the airport.
Post box	Stamps and postage available at the Baggage Storage counter in the domestic terminal.
Internet	Located throughout the airport, operated by coins.
Currency exchange	The Bank of New Zealand provides a full range of banking services in the international terminal.
Public telephones	Located throughout the airport.
ATMs	Located throughout the airport, selected machines dispensing New Zealand Dollars as well as Australian Dollars.

Baggage Trolleys	Located throughout the airport at no charge.
Baggage Storage	Located next to the Travel and Information Centre in the domestic terminal. Charges start from NZ$5 to NZ$8 per bag, per day.
