All customers travelling on Qantas operated flights from Australia to San Francisco will clear customs and immigration in San Francisco.

All customers travelling on Qantas operated or codeshare flights from Vancouver to San Francisco will clear customs and immigration in Vancouver. This flight is considered a domestic flight for arrival into San Francisco.

All Qantas customers arriving from either Australia or New Zealand and travelling on Qantas codeshare flights from Los Angeles to San Francisco must clear customs and immigration in Los Angeles.

There is a service desk located outside each arrivals area to assist customers with onward connections.

Check-in
Check-in counters are located on the Departures Level (Level 3) in all terminals.
Open from 6.45pm to 10.30pm. Passengers must check-in at least 3 hours before departure.
Check-in for Qantas flights is available from counters located in Aisle 10.
Check-in for Business, Chairmans Lounge, Qantas Club and oneworld Emerald passengers is available at counters 134-136.
For Qantas codeshare flights, check-in with the operating carrier.
Transfer between Terminals: You can walk between terminals by following the directional signs. Alternatively, the AirTrain offers free travel between terminals.

Getting to and from the Airport

Transport Details
Car The airport is approximately a 30 minute drive from the city.

Taxis Approximately A$40 to the city.
Buses Airporters are privately operated scheduled bus services that operate between the airport and the Bay Area.
SamTrans Public Bus Service operates regular services between the airport and the city, San Mateo County and Palo Alto.

Train Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) operates regular services to the city centre, northern San Mateo County, and the East Bay. The airport station is located on the Departures level (level 3) of the International terminal, and is accessible from Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the AirTrain. Other rail services connect to this line including the CalTrain shuttle service for travel between San Francisco and San Jose.
Fares start at US$5.15 per person one way to the city.
Car rentals Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty Car Rentals have counters on Level 4 of the airport's Rental Car Centre. Take the AirTrain to the Rental Car Centre.
Limousine Service Limousine transfers are available.

Baggage Trolleys Located throughout the airport. Cost is US$3 to departing passengers and free to arriving passengers.
Baggage Storage Available from the Airport Travel Agency, located on the Departures level of the International Terminal. Open 7am to 11pm. Cost starts at US$3.
Meet and Assist Passengers requiring assistance can be escorted to the departure gate upon request. Ask a Customer Service Agent for assistance.
