serviced by buses and taxis.
Most attractions being centrally located with beaches, restaurants
and shops and often within walking distance from your accommodation.
There are plenty of car rental companies to make your life even

Shopping
The Gold Coast is one of Australia's most popular shopping destinations.
Shopping centres, interesting arcades and boutiques are in the main
centre. Duty-free shopping is at its best on the Gold Coast - there
is a range of Australian-made souvenirs, clothing and accessories
as well as internationally recognised labels of perfumes, leather
goods, watches and more. There are also plenty of alternate stores
on edges of the main shopping districts. Venture away from the major
centres to historic villages and towns to unearth amazing pottery,
paintings, wooden creations and other works. Country and beachfront
markets are held throughout the region, mostly on weekends. You will
find treasure goodies such as quality handcrafted goods, home-made
pickles and jams; and be entertained by buskers, face-painters and
other colourful characters.
Food
Looking for a bite to eat? Then be tempted by more than 500 restaurants
in the region offering every style of cuisine. Australian cuisine
is renowned around the world for its blend of European and Asian styles
mixed with local flair. Sample Queensland delicacies such as barramundi,
Queensland mud crab, or try the Moreton Bay bug. Queensland beef is
exported around the world. Try exotic meats such as crocodile or kangaroo.
Known for its tropical bonanza, sample the wide array of fruits and
vegetables or buy something fresh from one of the region's markets.
You'll find major restaurant precincts at Tedder Avenue in Main Beach,
Marina Mirage, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta.
Head to the hinterland within 30 minutes drive of Gold Coast beaches
to Tamborine Mountain, Springbrook, Mudgeeraba or south to Murwillumbah
for Devonshire teas and restaurants in rainforest settings.

The Gold Coast Airport is approximately 15 minutes from Broadbeach and 25 minutes away from Surfers Paradise.
