To help you get organised with your family travels we have provided some key points to consider below.

Junior Flyer

Frequent Flyer You are never too young to start flying. Start earning rewards for your child with the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program. With no age limits in place, any family member is able to join our Frequent Flyer program. With their own account, your child will be able to earn and redeem Qantas Points every time they fly. Family Transfers are also available, allowing you to transfer points to any family member once every 12 months. Join online now.

Australian Domestic Travel

Travel Insurance Insure your personal belongings, baggage and costs related to flight cancellations, also against cost for medical care.
Baggage Get to know your baggage allowances
Travel Documents Check which documents you and your child need for your trip, domestic travel includes tickets and photo identification.
Flight Status Check the flight departure and check-in times before heading to the airport.

International Travel

At least three months before departure

Passports Ensure each person travelling is covered under a valid a passport
Visa

Check to see if you need a visa for all the countries your family will travelling in. Note USA travel requires ESTA approval.
Health

Make sure you check with your local GP as to which immunisations you require for your travels.

One week before departure

Travel Insurance Insure your personal belongings, baggage and any additional costs. It will also cover the cost of unexpected medical care.

Currency

Buy foreign currency with Qantas Travel Money and you can earn Qantas points.
Medications

Ensure your medication is allowed in the country you are visiting and that you have enough for your entire trip, as well any certificates from your doctor.
Baggage

Check the baggage allowance for all of your flights.
Tickets

Keep your e-ticket and passport on you to show at check-in. Children and infants will require their own ticket.
Customs

Learn about any restrictions on goods that you can bring in and out of Australia.
Meals

Make sure you request a special child, toddler or baby meal for all flights. Include any allergies or special needs.

Day of departure

Flight Status Check your flight departure and check-in times before you arrive at the airport. We can send SMS updates straight to your phone.
Check-in Check-in online before you arrive or at the airport where Qantas staff will at hand to help.
