Domestic Airport Check-in
With Faster, Smarter Check-in passengers can breeze through the airport with our range of check-in options designed to suit you.
Platinum, Gold and Silver Frequent Flyers and Qantas Club members can use their Q Card for an award-winning airport check-in experience,* and with the new Q Bag Tag, can experience a quick and easy bag drop.
All other travellers can check-in and collect their boarding pass at the check-in kiosks for a seamless check-in experience.

Q Card Reader
Platinum, Gold, Silver Frequent Flyer or Qantas Club members can use their new Qantas card for a Faster, Smarter check-in experience.
Simply touch and hold your card to one of the Q Card Readers in the terminal, and you are automatically checked in.
A visual indication on the reader and an audible tone will confirm check-in and an SMS confirmation will follow shortly after.
If you are travelling with carry on baggage only, head through security to the gate.
Q Card readers are located in the check-in hall at selected Qantas and QantasLink domestic airports across the country^ as well as at selected Qantas Club and Qantas Business Lounges.
Check-in Kiosk
For all other travellers on most domestic flights, Check-in Kiosks offer a fast and easy check-in whether you are travelling with or without baggage.
Simply follow the prompts on screen to check-in at the Kiosk and collect your boarding pass and printed bag tag, where available.
At the Check-in Kiosk you can also:
- Check-in for your return flight that same day.+
- Change to an earlier flight.#
- View your flight booking details.
- Check-in a companion who is on the same flight but not the same ticket.
- Check-in groups.
- Input your Frequent Flyer details.~
- Upgrade your flight using Frequent Flyer points.**
Premium Service Desk
Platinum, Gold, Silver Frequent Flyers, Qantas Club members and customers travelling in Business can check-in or drop off baggage at the Premium Service Desk.
The friendly, professional staff at our Premium Service Desks can arrange your international connections, help make changes to your journey and assist with any advice you may need.
Checked Baggage
If you are travelling with carry-on baggage only, make your way through security and head straight to the gate. Travellers with checked baggage will need to drop their bags at bag drop at least 30 minutes before departure.
Customers with a Q Bag Tag can go straight to bag drop or the dedicated Bag Drop counters after checking in to drop off their baggage.
If you don't have a Q Bag Tag, you can print your paper bag tags at the Check-in Kiosks located in the check-in area, where available, before heading to bag drop.
Be sure to label your baggage inside and out, with your name, address and contact number for your destination and ensure that all old destination stickers and tags are removed from all baggage.
