Going for gold or going for spice. Deira is Souk heaven. Once you have bartered in the souks, re-energise yourself by ducking into one of the tucked-away cafes and having a shot of Arabic coffee. Spend the afternoon crossing the Creek in a traditional Abra, an atmospheric journey unchanged for decades. - Bur Dubai
