Graduate Program - How to Apply

We're seeking smart graduates, with a credit average, who share our ambition to be the world's best premium airline.

Application will be via an online portal where you will be asked to provide some information about yourself, identify the stream you are applying for, answer some free-text questions and attach your CV. Below are some examples of the free text questions you may be asked.

• Why are you interested in this graduate position?
  Each year Qantas receives a large number of applications for our Graduate Program. Please describe what sets you apart from other applicants.
• What are your career goals for the next 3 years?
• The aviation industry is often characterised by volatility, uncertainty and change. As such, Qantas is faced with numerous issues and challenges. Please rank and describe the top 3 issues you believe are facing Qantas today and outline briefly the reason you think these are important.
• For one of the issues identified above, please outline a strategy to ensure continued growth and success.
• Please describe your analytical and numerical skills and provide an example of when you have applied these skills.

You will be asked to create a username and login password in order to proceed with the application. Please keep this information in a safe place in case you wish to alter any of your personal information throughout the application process.

Minimum Criteria

Applicants for all streams must meet the following minimum criteria to be eligible to apply for the Qantas Graduate Program;

• Applicants must have Australian permanent residency or Australian or New Zealand citizenship at the time of application.
• Applicants must have completed a university degree qualification or higher within the 3 years preceding the commencement of the program i.e. for the 2014 intake you must complete your studies in 2011, 2012 or 2013.
• Applicants must have a credit average (65%) or higher.
• As all graduate positions are located at the Qantas offices in Mascot NSW, applicants must be willing to relocate to Sydney if offered a position.
• Applicants must agree to undertake a security clearance check to establish their eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Applicant must be able to commence work on or around February 2014.

Additional Minimum Criteria for Finance Stream

• Applicants must have an Accounting major.
• Applicants must be willing to complete their CA or CPA (fully sponsored).
