Q. What is an ASIC security check and why do I need one?
A. All employees and contractors that are working or are contracted to work for the Qantas Group that need access to Qantas property and/or Qantas IT systems will need to undergo a security check by Qantas ID Services.
You will be asked to complete and submit a Qantas Security Assessment Form that allows consent for Qantas to perform a security and background check which will also include a criminal history check.
It is very important that you disclose all information required on these forms in relation to your background as you may not pass a security assessment if you have been dishonest or left out important details about your past.
If you are successful in clearing a security assessment, you will then be issued with an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) which will allow you to work with us.
Q. Will I need to undergo a Medical Check including Drug and Alcohol Testing?
A. Depending what type of role you are applying for, you will required to attend a pre-employment medical assessment at one of our preferred medical centres close to your location.
We need to make sure you are fit to do your role and also be aware of any pre-existing conditions you may have to ensure your safety whilst you are working with Qantas.
In some roles, you will be required to undergo a Drug and Alcohol test particularly if your role involves driving vehicles or if you will have access to high security areas.
