Qantas Extends Cityflyer to Perth-Darwin Route
Perth, 16 July 2010
Qantas today announced that all flights between Perth and Darwin would offer the airline’s award winning Cityflyer product and services, from this month.
Qantas Regional General Manager Western Australia and Northern Territory, Mr Ian Gay, said Qantas was very pleased to offer customers travelling on the Perth-Darwin route an upgraded product and service experience, with Perth-Darwin services becoming the latest Cityflyer route in the airline’s domestic network.
“Qantas offers Cityflyer product on services from Perth to Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney and the extension of this to our daily Perth-Darwin service will offer our regular business and leisure customers a consistent product offering across Australia.
Mr Gay said the new Cityflyer product offering would include:
- an additional main course choice, broader wine selection from some iconic Western Australian wineries and a cheese and dessert service in Business Class;
- a more substantial meal in Economy Class with complimentary beer and wine every day from 12.00 noon, presented on Qantas’ Marc Newson designed tableware; and
- a second refreshment service prior to landing reflective of the long flight time between Perth and Darwin.
Qantas offers a daily service between Perth and Darwin operated by a 168-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
This is one of a number of improvements planned for the domestic customer experience over the next year.
