QantasLink Adds More Services to Roma
Brisbane, 13 March 2007
QantasLink announced today that it would add four weekly services between Brisbane and Roma from 25 March 2007.
Qantas Group General Manager Regional Airlines Mr Narendra Kumar said the airline would operate 22 services per week, providing a 15 per cent increase in capacity, or an additional 136 seats each week on the route.
"QantasLink is strongly committed to its operation to Roma, as well as to Charleville, and we are pleased to provide extra capacity and additional travel opportunities for local people and also further support local tourism and business," Mr Kumar said.
The additional services will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays departing Brisbane at 1.00pm and returning from Roma at 2.30pm. The new services follow the introduction of an additional Wednesday service that commenced in January 2007.
Mr Kumar said QantasLink was a proud supporter of community events and organisations in the Roma region, including the Roma Cup Races, the Big Rig and Easter in the Country.
"In June 2007, QantasLink will celebrate six years of service to the Roma and Charleville communities, and this latest upgrade of services confirms our strong commitment to the region," Mr Kumar said.
QantasLink mainly operates the Dash 8 Q300 50-seat aircraft on the Roma route.
"Customers on QantasLink services have access to seamless transfers onto other Qantas and QantasLink flights, and are able to earn and redeem Qantas Frequent Flyer points," he said.
QantasLink currently operates around 2,000 flights each week, serving 49 metropolitan and regional destinations throughout Australia.
