QantasLink Adds More Services to Hervey Bay

QantasLink said today it would add a return service between Hervey Bay and Brisbane from 28 March 2007, taking the number of services on the route to 36.
Qantas Group General Manager Regional Airlines Narendra Kumar said the airline, which commenced operations on the route on 1 October 2006, would operate the Dash 8 return service on Wednesdays.
"QantasLink will offer approximately 65,000 seats a year on the route, providing important access to the region's attractions," Mr Kumar said.
He said support for the QantasLink product since commencing operations had been very encouraging.
"We have been extremely pleased with the response to our new services. This is the second time QantasLink has increased services on the route in the past month," he said.
The additional Wednesday service will depart Brisbane at 2pm, arriving into Harvey Bay at 2:45pm.The return service will depart Hervey Bay at 3:05pm and arrive into Brisbane at 3:50pm.
"Customers on QantasLink services have access to seamless transfers onto other Qantas and QantasLink flights, and are able to earn and redeem Qantas Frequent Flyer points," he said.
Mr Kumar said QantasLink was a proud supporter of community events and organisations in the Hervey Bay region, including Fraser Coast Tourism and the Fraser Coast Annual Tourism Awards.
The Qantas Group also operates four return Jetstar services between Sydney and Hervey Bay each week.
QantasLink currently operates around 2,000 flights each week, serving 49 destinations throughout Australia and employing more than 1,000 people.
