Christmas Comes Early With 1,000 Points Off 1.5 Million Qantas Frequent Flyer Classic Awards Seats
Sydney, 19 November 2008
Qantas Frequent Flyer members will today have more than 1.5 million Qantas and QantasLink Classic Award seats available for redemption travel within Australia between 1 December 2008 and 29 February 2009 inclusive.
The Chief Executive of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, Simon Hickey, said the seats were available on all Qantas and QantasLink flights in Business and Economy Classes to all major cities and popular holiday destinations across Australia.
"The Qantas Frequent Flyer 1.5 million seats sale aims to stimulate travel within the Australian domestic market and encourage our members to holiday at home.
"With Classic Award flights starting from 8,000 points for one way sectors up to 600 kilometres this is a great time for Qantas Frequent Flyer members to arrange pre- or post-Christmas travel," he said.
Mr Hickey said members could also take advantage of the option to use 6,000 additional points or a credit card payment for the applicable fees, surcharges and taxes.
To bring further savings to members, Classic Award bookings made between 18 and 30 November 2008 for travel within Australia during the dates above could save members a further 1,000 points off the regular number of points on these Award flights.
"Members can also use their points for Award travel for any eligible^ family member, meaning the savings can really add up and families can get together in an affordable way over the school holiday period," Mr Hickey added.
"This is another great reason to transfer points today from a credit card reward program as many offer an option to transfer points to the member's Qantas Frequent Flyer account, but only for a limited time," Mr Hickey said.
