First of all I would like to say how pleased I am to be here with the American Chamber of Commerce today. Less than ten days ago we took our first A380 passenger flight to Los Angeles - and it was fantastic to be met by such a warm reaction. Of course, there is no better place than Los Angeles to premiere a blockbuster like the Qantas A380 - it is really a step change in technology, style and comfort...I hope you are all booking your tickets.

Qantas Enters Deed of Settlement with ACCC
Qantas said today it had entered a Deed of Settlement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to settle its liability in Australia resulting from price fixing conduct within its Freight Division and had agreed to pay a fine of A$20 million.

Qantas said today that its inaugural A380 service between Los Angeles and Melbourne had saved thousands of kilograms of carbon emissions under a joint initiative with Airservices Australia and the Asia and South Pacific Initiative to Reduce Emissions group (ASPIRE).

Qantas Frequent Flyer and the Commonwealth Bank today announced that from 13 October members of the Commonwealth Bank (CBA) Award loyalty program would be able to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points direct into their account instead of transferring them on request.
