Next Generation Boeing 737-800

We now have a fleet of eight new next generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft on our trans Tasman routes from Auckland and Wellington. As well as a few friendly locals on board, you can look forward to full service in Business and Economy with food, drinks and the very latest on demand in-flight entertainment systems offering you more than 300 entertainment options, and seating styled by international design icon Marc Newson.

And to make sure these new aircraft feel at home in this part of the world we've named our aircraft after six famous New Zealanders: Jean Batten, Sir William Hudson, Katherine Mansfield, William Pickering, Abel Tasman, Sir Edmund Hillary, Ernest Rutherford and Charles Upham.

Enjoy Qantas Business across the Tasman every day.

Your trans Tasman experience begins before you board the plane, with access to the Qantas International Business Lounge. Take the time to unwind and relax with a drink or something to eat or catch up on some work using our dedicated business facilities.

On board, our new generation Boeing 737-800 Business cabin is designed with your comfort and relaxation in mind. The seat has a 37" pitch, 6" recline and is 22" inches wide, it also features Qantas' exclusive wide back design, an extendable leg rest with fold out footrest, adjustable headrest, personal side stowage, individual PC power and USB port, cocktail table and ergonomic cushions.

Your in-flight entertainment system offers you a personal 10.6" touch screen^ so you can enjoy any of the 300 on demand entertainment options such as movies, TV shows, CDs, games, audio books, Q radio channels, children's section and seat to seat "chat" messaging. It also includes Qantas' exclusive interactive Lonely Planet Guides.

While on board you'll also be treated to menus designed by leading Australian restaurateur Neil Perry, and your choice from a selection of wines from across New Zealand and Australia.

Our trans Tasman Economy has evolved with our new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft. You can look forward to a personal 9" seat back screen^, featuring the latest on-demand in flight entertainment with over 300 on demand entertainment options from movies, TV shows, CD library, audio books, Q radio channels, children's section and seat to seat "chat" messaging as well as Qantas' exclusive interactive Lonely Planet Guides as featured on the Qantas A380.

Your seat also features in seat PC power, individual USB ports and 4 way adjustable headrests.

With our contemporary international Economy menu, you can enjoy a variety of meal options, presented on stylish Marc Newson-designed tableware.
