On-Time Performance
Qantas understands the importance of getting you safely to your chosen destination on-time, everytime. Qantas has been the leader amongst all the major domestic Australian airlines for on time performance in 2010 and 2011, so you can be sure we strive to operate every flight so that it meets the departure time shown in our published schedule.
Qantas uses the computerised Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), to record on-time performance data.
In accordance with industry standards, an 'on-time' departure is one that departs the designated gate no more than 15 minutes beyond the scheduled departure time. Our on-time performance statistics are published by the Australian Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics.
