We are proud to say that Qantas has consecutively outperformed Virgin Australia to be the most on-time major domestic airline for the last 10 months.^
Qantas was also the most punctual major domestic airline in the country on average for 2012, leading the board in both on-time departures and arrivals.
The annual figures mark the fourth calendar year in a row that Qantas has had better average on-time domestic performance than its main domestic competitor - Virgin Australia.*
Within regional Australia, QantasLink has outperformed Virgin Australia Regional Airlines~ six out of ten months^. QantasLink in Sydney has moved to T3 providing customers with smoother connections between regional, domestic and international services.

Qantas uses the computerised Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), to record on-time performance data.
In accordance with industry standards, an 'on-time' departure is one that departs the gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time. Our on-time performance statistics are published by the Australian Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics.
