July 2017 - OUR NEW MELBOURNE DOMESTIC FREIGHT TERMINAL LOCATION AND HOURS

From 19 July, lodgement and collection of domestic freight in Melbourne will be handled at our larger air freight terminal on the corner of Francis Briggs and Service Road at Melbourne Airport.
We're also updating our hours. Our customer service team will be available to help with:
Lodgements - 4am to 9pm weekdays and 5am to 6pm weekends.
Collections - 5am to 1am weekdays and 5am to 9pm weekends.
We look forward to seeing you there.

May 2017 - WISEWAY LOGISTICS WIN OUR 'VENTURE TO VIETNAM' CAMPAIGN

Congratulations to Wiseway Logistics who have won our Venture to Vietnam campaign, promoting our recently launched services to Ho Chi Minh City. We're pleased to be providing the company with two return Business Class tickets on the Jetstar flights of their selection in line with our terms and conditions.

May 2017 - ACCEPTANCE AND PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS FOR US BOUND AIR FREIGHT

From 1 July 2017 all air freight sent directly from Australia to the US will need to comply with additional security screening requirements under new Australian legislation.

Customers that elect to have Qantas Freight carry out the piece level examination at our terminals will need to start lodging freight earlier and meet new freight presentation requirements. Full details are available here.

Further information about the new security requirements, and how to register interest in becoming a Registered Air Cargo Agent or Known Consignor is available from the Government.

May 2017 - NEW PARTNERSHIP TO TRANSPORT CHINESE AIRMAIL

Qantas Freight has entered into a one year agreement with Sai Cheng Logistics International (Sai Cheng) to fly airmail weekly out of China to the United States.

Sai Cheng is a joint venture company between Australia Post and China Post, which provides an integrated logistics solution for Chinese customers to overseas markets including Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the US, Europe and South America.

The airmail from China Post will be airlifted from Shanghai and Hong Kong to various points in the United States by Qantas Freight using our Boeing 747-400 freighter network from Shanghai and our belly capacity out of Hong Kong via Australia.

May 2017 - RESONATE ACOUSTICS RECEIVE $10,000 OF EXPORT SUPPORT FROM AUSTRADE

Congratulations to Resonate Acoustics on being selected as the winner of our Australian exporter's promotion.

South Australian based electro-magnetic engineering firm Resonate Acoustics now has the opportunity to grow their business in international markets with $10,000 worth of export support from Austrade.

Thank you to the high calibre of Australian exporters who entered the promotion.

Entries were judged by Qantas Freight and Austrade, based on the entrants' current and potential export activity, as well as their economic contribution to the Australian economy.

May 2017 - DIRECT SERVICES TO VIETNAM

From 10 May 2017, Qantas Freight will offer capacity on Jetstar's direct flights from Melbourne and Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City.

Operated on Boeing's 787 Dreamliners, these services provide our customers the opportunity to access markets in Vietnam and are well suited to oversized and containerised shipments.

April 2017 - REVISED AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL SERVICE FEES

Qantas Freight will introduce a revised schedule of terminal service fees at our Australian based international freight terminals, effective 24 April 2017.

December 2016 - RESTRICTED PET BREEDS ON LONDON SERVICES INTO AND OUT OF AUSTRALIA/ NEW ZEALAND

We are no longer able to accept certain breeds of dogs on our flights from London through to Australia/New Zealand as they are now banned from importation into the United Arab Emirates. The reason Qantas Freight is affected is because our aircraft on these routes refuel in Dubai. This will also impact our Australia/New Zealand to London services.

The ban applies to the following breeds:
· Pit bulls (Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bully)
· Mastiffs (Brazilian, Argentinian, any hybrid)
· Tosa (Japanese or hybrid)
· Rottweilers and hybrids
· Doberman Pinschers
· Canario Presas
· Boxers

December 2016 - CHANGES TO US-BOUND AIR CARGO SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS

From 1 July 2017 Qantas Freight will be required to comply with new US Government requirements and achieve 100 per cent piece level examination for US-bound air cargo. Qantas Freight is in the process of installing new x-ray machines and metal detectors to carry out enhanced piece level examination. We are also working with our security partners to develop internal processes to ensure screening compliance is carried out for all US-bound freight.

November 2016 - QANTAS RESUMES SYDNEY TO BEIJING ROUTE

From 25 January 2017 (subject to government and regulatory approvals) Qantas Freight will offer cargo capacity on the new Qantas daily Airbus 330-200 Sydney-Beijing return services. These services suit a wide range of containerised Q-GO Classic and Q-GO Fresh cargo.

September 2016 - CHANGES TO THE JETSTAR ASIA 3K CARGO NETWORK

From 22 October 2016 Qantas Freight will no longer act as the authorised cargo agent for the Jetstar Asia Airways 3K network. We will continue to support the network and work closely with the newly appointed sales agent to sell Qantas 081 air waybills for intra-Asia 3K shipments that connect on to Qantas (QF) and Jetstar (JQ) mainline international services.

September 2016 - CARGO RESTRICTION ON THE SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE & MOBILE PHONES

Effective immediately Qantas Freight has lifted our restriction on the carriage on new edition Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile phones. Qantas Freight continues to uphold the restriction of carriage for the recalled models of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile phones on all Qantas Group aircraft. This includes both new and used handsets.

August 2016 - UPDATES TO THE B767 INTERNATIONAL FREIGHTER NETWORK

Qantas Freight has updated our international B767 freighter schedule to meet demand for perishable exports in the busy summer months.

Qantas Freight now offers 46 tonnes of cargo capacity on a B767 freighter service between Sydney and Hong Kong. Operating every Sunday afternoon, the service departs Sydney at 1300 and arrives in Hong Kong at 2230.

To accommodate this new service Qantas Freight will no longer offer a Sunday B767 freighter service from Sydney to Auckland. Qantas Freight continues to operate five B767 services per week between Sydney and Auckland. We have also taken the opportunity to retime the Saturday service to Auckland so that all operate on the same convenient 2210 departure schedule from Sydney.

August 2016 - QANTAS FREIGHT IS NOW OPERATING TWO DOMESTIC FREIGHTER NETWORKS

On Monday through Thursday evenings Qantas Freight operates two domestic freighter networks across Australia:
• Qantas Freight offers capacity on 60 weekly services between eight east coast destinations on a network that we deliver with four freighter aircraft.
• Qantas Freight also operates a dedicated network of six freighter aircraft to nine destinations for the exclusive use of the Australia Post Group and StarTrack.

The evening freighter services are ideally timed to meet courier and mail cut-off times, making it possible for industry to deliver on next day express commitments. Freight is also carried in the belly of our scheduled Qantas and Jetstar passenger services, which includes a conveniently timed wide-body services in the late evening and early morning.

June 2016 - QANTAS LAUNCHES WEEKLY DALLAS FORT WORTH FREIGHTER SERVICE

From Thursday 9 June Qantas Freight will make a weekly stop at Dallas Fort Worth every Thursday morning as part of its B747-400F triangular freighter route connecting Australia, China, the USA and Australia

January 2016 - WIRE CAGES NOT ACCEPTED FOR DOMESTIC PET TRAVEL

From 1 January 2016 pets can no longer travel in wire cages on our domestic air freight network.
