Restaurant and bar

Annette brasserie at Le Grand Hotel Cayre Paris

Annette, the hotel’s all-day brasserie, is dedicated to plating up French comfort food with finesse. Chef Bruno Brangea, former head chef for Alain Ducasse, delivers elevated takes on classics such as steak frites, pâté en croûte and his œufs en meurette (poached eggs in red wine sauce) – a dish that earned him the title of Œufs en Meurette World Champion. Rounding out the menu is an extensive list of regional wines, all selected to enhance the traditional dishes on offer. The restaurant is open daily from 7am to 10.30pm, serving breakfast through to dinner in an elegant, low-key space frequented by locals and hotel guests.

A central bar in the lobby serves espresso, apéritifs and wine from early morning until 11pm. Tucked behind a glass door at the rear of the ground floor, the hotel’s moody, speakeasy-style cocktail bar, Officine Bac, is open Tuesday to Saturday from 7pm to 1am. Overseen by beverage director Oscar Blackstone, the bar specialises in bold spirits and custom drinks. Expect low lighting, moody ambience and engaging bartenders who know their way around a smoky Negroni or can fix you something that hits the spot no matter your tastes.

Guest-led choices are built into the stay: skip daily housekeeping, minibar service or bathrobes for a reduced rate. In-room amenities are biodegradable or recyclable and the minibar is plastic-free – you’ll find only glasses and cans here. Locally sourced custom designs and furnishings throughout the hotel support Paris-based creators and minimise unnecessary production.

Travel for work

There aren’t dedicated workspaces in the rooms but there are reading areas equipped with tables, comfortable armchairs and task lighting. Free, fast Wi-fi is available throughout the property. The lobby bar and banquette seating by the ground-floor windows make for a low-key meeting spot adjacent to the restaurant and The Gallery, a quieter communal space past the lobby, offers more secluded seating. For more formal work requirements, the hotel partners with the nearby Maison de l’Amérique Latine, a cultural centre with private gardens less than five minutes walk away. It has a range of spaces that can accommodate a meeting for five to events for 250 people.
